Ex-England Striker Andy Carroll Due in Court After Arrest

Former England forward Andy Carroll is due to appear in court on Tuesday after being charged with breaching a non-molestation order.

Carroll, 36, who currently plays for Dagenham and Redbridge, was arrested in April. The alleged offence is said to have taken place a month earlier. He is scheduled to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on December 30.

Essex Police confirmed the charge, stating that Andrew Carroll, of Epping, was arrested on April 27 and that the allegation relates to an incident in March.

A non-molestation order is a court injunction designed to prevent contact or communication with a specific individual and can also restrict someone from approaching certain locations, including a home or workplace. Breaching such an order is a criminal offence, with penalties ranging from a fine to a maximum sentence of five years in prison in the most serious cases.

Carroll has made 12 appearances for Dagenham and Redbridge this season in the National League South. During his career, he played for Newcastle United and Liverpool, earning nine caps for England. He joined Liverpool in 2011 for a then club-record £35m transfer fee.
