Arsenal’s title charge suffered a major setback as they threw away a two goal lead to draw 2 2 against bottom placed Wolves at Molineux, with teenager Tom Edozie scoring a dramatic stoppage time equaliser on his debut.

On a cold night in the West Midlands, Arsenal looked in control for long spells and appeared set to extend their advantage at the top of the Premier League table. Instead, they left with just a point and growing questions about their consistency.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring inside four minutes, ending a lengthy goal drought in style. A precise lofted pass from Declan Rice found Saka inside the box, and the winger stooped to head home from close range. It was a confident start from Mikel Arteta’s side, who moved the ball sharply and pressed high up the pitch.

Arsenal doubled their lead 10 minutes into the second half. Piero Hincapie latched onto a forward pass and calmly lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 2 0. At that stage, the visitors looked comfortable and Wolves appeared short on ideas.

However, the game shifted quickly. Wolves found renewed energy and began committing more players forward. Hugo Bueno pulled one back with a superb curling effort from the edge of the area, giving the home crowd fresh belief. Arsenal, who had dominated early phases, began to lose control in midfield and struggled to manage the tempo.

As the clock ticked down, tension grew inside Molineux. Wolves pushed for an equaliser and Arsenal failed to clear their lines effectively. In the 94th minute, 19 year old Tom Edozie reacted quickest inside the box after a cross confused the area. His low strike took a deflection off Riccardo Calafiori and clipped the post before finding the net, sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters.

The result leaves Arsenal on 58 points from 27 matches, five ahead of Manchester City, though they have played a game more. Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the table but the late comeback could provide a psychological lift in their fight to avoid finishing with one of the lowest totals in league history.

Arteta did not hide his frustration after the match, pointing to a drop in standards during the second half. Arsenal have now won only three of their last eight league games, a run that could prove costly in a tight title race.

For Wolves, the night belonged to Edozie, whose debut goal capped a spirited fightback. For Arsenal, it was a reminder that in the Premier League, even a two goal lead offers no guarantees.
