England youth international Michelle Agyemang has returned to Arsenal to begin her rehabilitation following a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury sustained while on duty with the national team.
The 19-year-old striker had been on a season-long loan at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League (WSL), her second consecutive spell with the club. Agyemang made a promising start to the 2025–26 campaign, starting in five of Brighton’s six WSL fixtures and scoring once before her injury in October.
Brighton confirmed that the decision to end the loan was made in collaboration with Arsenal and the Football Association, with all parties prioritising Agyemang’s physical recovery and mental wellbeing. The forward will now undergo an extended rehabilitation programme at Arsenal’s London Colney training base.
Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic praised Agyemang’s character and impact, despite the early end to her season.
“It was a real privilege to welcome Michelle back in the summer and work with her for another season,” said Vidosic. “Naturally, we’re disappointed her second loan spell has come to an end, but her rehab and mental wellbeing must remain the priority.
For someone so young, her talent on the pitch and her strength of character off it are truly remarkable. She has been a leader within our squad, and we’re confident she’ll be back on the pitch very soon.”
Agyemang’s development has been closely followed by Arsenal fans, and the club is expected to provide medical and technical support as she works toward a full return to competitive action.
